Well gang, another year has past, and once again the industry dumped, what seemed to be, 400 new games on the market in the last quarter. I have finally finished playing all my games from this past year, and i must say that there were quite a bit of great games this year. Some of you have possibly seen  a couple of the games on my list, on store shelves and asked, “I wonder if thats any good?”

Well the good news is that those games are probably cheaper now and you now will know that they were good.

So here we go…we will start with my top 10. With ONE EXCEPTION!!! This list is not in order of how i liked them, just my top 10 games in alphabetical order. This year was very tough to pick just one number one.

  1. Alan Wake
  2. Blur
  3. DJ Hero 2
  4. Fallout: New Vegas
  5. Heavy Rain
  6. Mass Effect 2
  7. Monday Night Combat
  8. Pac-Man Championship Edition DX
  9. Professor Layton and the Unwound Future
  10. Singularity - the best game you didn’t play…GO GET IT NOW!!!
And i thought i would throw you a guilty pleasures that if you have a chance to pick one up, or play them, then do it and thank me later. And it is… Vanquish - a great little filler game. No multiplayer, just single player, non-stop excitement. Also Red Dead Redemption just missed my list.
Now what i believe to be some of the biggest piles of disappointments that i played. But shhhh be quiet we don’t want to hurt their feeling any more. They had a rough year.
  1. Attack of the Movies 3D
  2. Alpha Protocol
  3. Quantum Theory
  4. Fable 3 (yeah i said it…)
  5. Castlevania: Harmony of Despair
  6. Star Wars: Force Unleased II
  7. Power Gig: Rise of the 6 String
  8. APB - I didn’t play it, but have felt the pain of hearing all about it. Wayyyyy too much about it!
  9. Most of the Kinect Games
  10. Most of the PS: Move Games
No links for these stinkers. sorry.

Xbox’s Kinect has left many hardcore gamers down just as the Wii had done when it first released on the shelfs, but one title that may catch the eyes of fighters is “” developed by AMA Studios, and published by Ubisoft. The game is to be the first fighter to the 360’s Kinect device, and will be a interesting as it will have a similar fighting sensor as the Wii Sport’s boxing.

This though is concerning for most as critics have stated that this game is driven more by a older title “Punch Out!” then hard hitting titles such as “Street Fighter 4“. One critic says to hardcore fighters directly “Those who admire Street Fighter should keep playing with their sticks. “Fighters Uncaged” is more about literally knocking out your opponent then performing numerous combos, and special abilities.” Some say that this game may have some ties to “Punch Out!”’s goal, but it will have different features to allow a different gaming experience.
Unfortunately, due to all of the fighting action, no more than one person can play at a time. There’s really not much more to say about this, but it looks like multiplayer might be a universal problem with Kinect. For a title like Fighters Uncaged, this is a major buzz kill.
Also another downer is that this game features no female character models. This is because AMA Studio’s producer Luc Verdier said upfront “We just didn’t have enough time to incorporate any. We apologize to anyone offended by this.” AMA Studios would have love to added a another gender to the game’s design in the near future if they face a squeal.

Though to be honest the game from preview level does not really offer too much to the bargain, and which is disappointing. Regardless to the bad feedback, and predictions. We can only hope “Fighters Uncaged!” will make some hope for hardcore gamers to get Kinect. While the game may not be gore filled, or blood gushing, a fighter is a fighter.

FIGHTERS UNCAGED will be released in the states on Nov 4, 2010 near you!

“The tornado of fierce ninja action that is Naruto Shippuden hits Xbox 360® for the first time! NARUTO SHIPPUDEN™: Ultimate Ninja®: STORM 2 brings refined fighting mechanics, a rich story mode with deep replay value, and the first online play ever in the Ultimate Ninja franchise. Stunning graphics and real time animations place the player inside a living manga world packed with dramatic 3D boss battles against over
40 characters. See who’s really the Ultimate Ninja by taking on real competitors online, while taking showmanship to a new level with a card system that allows players to show their ninja style. NARUTO SHIPPUDEN™: Ultimate Ninja®: STORM 2 is nothing less than the most electrifying, visually powerful fighting-adventure game ever.”- Xbox.com
Yup, you heard it boys, and girls! The hard-hitting japanese anime has arrived for 360 for the first time, and coming back strong for PS3 as well in it’s upcoming title “Naruto Shippuden Ult-Ninja Storm 2″. As the quote from Xbox.com has already told you about most of the game’s appeal, there is far more to it!
This is the serie’s first multi-platform game that features RPG elements, 3-D intense combat with quick action events to spice it up, and of course immense storyline. For those who read the manga, or watch via anime will get a feeling of re-living the story of Naruto. The game features far more then just story line though as you can engage in online battles with friends, and challenges to put your ninja (Guy) skills to the test.

Special Features
* Multiple online features including ranked matches with leaderboards, match customization, quick matches with opponents chosen at random and the ability to host matches.
* Destructable environments from which to knock your opponents into.
* Boss battles against giant foes.
* Team specials.
* Hidden Leaf Village which is fully explorable.
* Certain stages feature stage manipulation, such as Kakashi using lightning atop the surface of the water in his boss level.
* Drive Gauge system lets assist characters create combos along with the player or protect the player against sever damage.
Even for casual gamers who enjoy fighters, will find themselves smiling as the combo system is extremely similiar to MVC’s support/tag team to allow massive damage, and ending them with special (jutsus) to watch your enemy get wrecked! Not to mention it will have about 42 characters for your choosing!
Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 will be arriving Oct, 19 10 this fall! So go to your local gamestore, and pre-order!!! (Rated-T for teens)
Thanks guys for reading!

For those of you who remember during of last year in early November-October releases, you may remember “DJ Hero”. “Dj Hero” is one of many ways Activision allowed gamers to interact with instruments. Thus hence the name DJ hero, as you take the role of the Disc jockey. Mixing, tuning, and ripping those beats for your crazy party goers.

Now time has passed of course, and with little sell from the market for the DJ hero things don’t seem to live up for DJ, as they lived up for Guitar Hero series. Well, as promised my little gamers, we will shortly have reviews on the Kontrol Freek stick caps. They are sending us a pair of both the “FPS Freek” and the “Speed Freek” toppers. They were ultra cool when it came with customer service. It may take up to a week for someone to respond to your email, but when they do, they do an excellent job. So wait for our review and then after our review, which will be in video and text, then use our code and buy them or not. BTW, we can’t wait to get our hands on them.

Also, we have been drafted to be one of the closed beta players for, the brand new, Medal of Honor. The game will release in Europe on October 15 and North America on October 12 - a month ahead of Activision’s Black Ops. And for a limited time you can just pre-order through EA, and buy your way into the beta. We will have a review of this as soon as we realize the we need to eat and that caffeine alone we not get us life-giving nutrients or until our Xbox RRODs.

Hey guys, keep an eye out on the webcast and on the blog for an upcoming review of Kontrolfreek.com’s “stick toppers”. We here at GamerCoach have tried to purchase the racing and fps combo but their site is not happy right now with taking our money. We have emailed the “Freeks” customer support and hope to hear from them soon.

According to their site, their product, which I have called “stick toppers”, they didn’t really call them anything are “…designed to elevate your gaming experience, by improving your performance while reducing fatigue. Each KontrolFreek product is carefully engineered to reduce force inputs while increasing player comfort, helping you improve your accuracy and decrease your reaction time. Our products are based on the latest science in controller ergonomics, adding comfort to your gaming experience.”

Like we said before, keep an eye on the blog site, in case we have a promo code for the toppers.
