Microsoft is finally releasing a patch to fix the HDMI audio issue that some Xbox 360 owners have been experiencing since the launch of New Xbox Experience.
A large thread on Xbox.com and a temporary workaround popped up immediately after the 19th November release.
According to Major Nelson, it has a fix, via a mandatory dashboard update released at 2am PST this morning. The below text is copied from his site.
Dashboard Update (aka the HDMI Audio fix)
Starting Tuesday morning at 0200 Pacific when you sign into Xbox Live you’ll be prompted for a mandatory dashboard update. The update addresses the issue that a few folks were having with audio and their HDMI connection. This update will be rolled out to all Xbox LIVE members around the world over the space of a few hours, so you may not get prompted for the update immediately. Thanks for your patience.
